    New York City is exploring ways to curb the speed of taxis. The Taxi and Limousine Commission this week issued a request for information on "anti speeding vehicle technologies."  The measures include devices that can intervene when drivers exceed posted speeds and "advisory systems" that can sound alarms when reckless driving is detected.

    A limousine bus driver on Long Island was arrested after the New York State police found he was transporting a bus full of drunk teens.Police say it happened Monday night at a Sunrise Highway rest area in Southampton.Someone called 911 to report a female screaming at the eastbound rest area between exit 65 and 66.Troopers arrived and found 42 teens between the ages of 16 and 17 in various stages of intoxication.The found more than 100 cans of beer on the bus, along with several gallons worth ...

    The first weekday test of the closed, northbound Pulaski Skyway wasn't much different from any other Monday. An estimated 40,000 motorists who take the Skyway toward Jersey City and Manhattan every day are now forced to find an alternate route. All northbound lanes were closed on Saturday for two-years during a rehabilitation project on the 82 year old span.

    The MTA says a customer found a skimming device on a MetroCard vending machine at the southbound No. 1 train platform at Columbus Circle and turned it in. Police later located a pinhole camera on a beam above the machine. Skimming devices are typically placed on machines and scoop information from a bank card's magnetic strip while a tiny camera overhead records your PIN.
