Steve Gehlbach

Steve Gehlbach is a Reporter for FOX 35 News. He has more than 10 years experience in local news in every job from Videotape Editor to Anchor…even Weatherman! 

Steve grew up in Iowa and got his start at WHO-TV in Des Moines. He moved on to WEEK-TV in Peoria, IL then to WATE-TV in Knoxville, TN before heading to Florida looking for sunshine. Steve worked as a freelance reporter in Tampa before coming to FOX 35 News in March of 2006.

Steve has covered the biggest stories in Central Florida and the state…from politics at the capitol in Tallahassee to terrorist suspects arrested in Miami. Hes chased hurricanes, covered the devastation from tropical storms and tornadoes, and been there for numerous NASA shuttle launches and landings. Steve also won a 2008 Suncoast Regional Emmy award in Spot News for coverage of the wildfires.

When not working, Steve loves golfing, reading, traveling, and most of all spending time with his wife Kristi and their baby girl.
