Michelle Burdo joined the FOX 35 family as a reporter/fill-in anchor in October 2010. You can watch her report on the issues you care about every morning from 7-9AM.
Michelle's career has taken her across the sunshine state. She received her Master's Degree from the University of Miami for broadcast journalism, then took her first job as an Ocala bureau reporter for WCJB, the ABC affiliate in Gainesville. She landed her second job at WBBH-NBC 2 in beautiful Southwest Florida. She covered the Naples area for the highest rated morning show in the market. Nearly five years later, she worked her way up to anchor for NBC 2 News Early Today and NBC 2 News at Noon. Michelle navigated her career to the Orlando area, and is now thrilled to be continuing her morning duties at FOX 35.
Michelle covered Hurricane Katrina when it first hit, and then returned eighteen months later to find out why insurance companies were not helping their clients. She will never forget the image of a homeowner wiping off cross marks left on the front door. Emergency workers put the marks there 18 months earlier to show no one perished inside.
Although Michelle thrives on big events, like hurricanes and election nights, she feels most empowered when telling emotional stories. If you have an issue that's impacting your life, email Michelle
When Michelle is not working, you can find her reading a book or writing in her journal at one of the many fabulous lakes in Central Florida.
