PAPENBURG, GERMANY (WOFL FOX 35) - Disney Cruise Line is celebrating a milestone for their latest ship. On Sunday the Disney Fantasy floated out of the enclosed building dock at the Meyer Werft shipyard reaching another key milestone in the construction process. Thousands of visitors lined the shore to catch a first glimpse of the newest Disney ship.

The "Float Out" is a special maritime event and one of the ship's final stages of construction, where exteriors become complete and interiors receive their finishing touches. Captain Mickey Mouse was on hand for the celebration, which included a fireworks spectacular to mark the occasion.

The Disney Fantasy is the second of two newly designed Disney ships that take the family cruise experience to new heights and features many of the innovations found on her sister ship, Disney Dream. The Disney Fantasy is scheduled to sail its maiden voyage on March 31, 2012, from Port Canaveral, Fla.
