ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - A stranded Atlantic spotted dolphin is being cared for at SeaWorld Orlando’s Cetacean Rehabilitation Facility.

Early Wednesday, animal care experts from SeaWorld Orlando transported the stranded Atlantic spotted dolphin from Gulf World Marine Park after it had been rescued by the facility Tuesday morning near Panama City Beach. She was moved to SeaWorld due to lack of rehabilitation space at Gulf World.‪

While at Gulf World, the 240 lb female spotted dolphin was monitored and stabilized until SeaWorld’s Animal Rescue Team could arrive to transport her back to Orlando for continued care.

Once she arrived at SeaWorld Orlando she received fluids and ate a half-pound of squid - a cautious, but good sign, according to park vets.

The dolphin will continue to receive monitored care and rehabilitation. ‪
