SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - A Central Florida fashion designer has a new patriotic clothing line. Bebe Ziegler is already famous for her other Ice-It lines, and she’s banking on her bottom-line sentiment.
“Our freedom isn't free,” Ziegler says as she shows off her new line of crystallized clothing with dog tags, flags, peace signs, and eagles.
Portions of the proceeds from the new line go to a charity that's near and dear to Bebe's heart: The Wounded Warrior Project. “We have the capability to do what we do because of these guys. And when they come back, it's a whole other war that they fight. My dad walks with a cane. So many of them get hurt.”
Her father, her inspiration, is Bob Foster, who spent 26 years in the U.S. Air Force. “I was in a helicopter crash in Vietnam,” Foster recalls.
It left him with a bad back, bad leg, and only 35% hearing.
He proudly wears his daughter's new line. “I'm proud of my
daughter for the way she stands up for her beliefs on this Memorial
Day. It's patriotic.”
“And I'm blessed that it is just a cane and his
hearing. It's not anything worse. He's always been healthy enough
to attend every cheerleading rally and football game. And
everything that we've done,” Ziegler says.
Bebe's honored to be a brat. And her skills, her art, are true tributes to our military. “Out of our success, we like to give back to make a difference,” says Ziegler.
Items in Bebe's patriotic collection range from $30.00 to
$50.00.
