(WOFL FOX 35) - Shannon Burke has returned to the radio on what he describes as a "much smaller scale".

Burke hit the airwaves of the Big 810 AM at Noon on Monday after a long year of ups and downs in his personal life.

Back in 2009 Burke says he accidentally shot and injured wife and dog while intoxicated. Since then he has been on the road to recovery and plans to host a talk show that is candid and open about not only his life struggles but also issues affecting people across the globe.

Burke told FOX 35's Talitha Vickers that he is very thankful to have another chance to be back on the air and plans to continue to make big and positive changes in his life.

Burke can be heard Monday through Friday from Noon to 3 p.m.
