Lingerie Football coming to Orlando

HOLLYWOOD, Cal. (WOFL FOX 35) - Lingerie Football League officials announced on Wednesday an expansion Lingerie Football League team to begin play in Orlando in 2010.

The LFL launched this fall and after only five weeks of action, has drawn strong fan support and television ratings which has peaked the interest of several potential expansion market ownership groups.

"Orlando has an incredibly passionate fan base that has supported all tiers and forms of professional sports. When the LFL arrives in 2010, the game of football will be re-introduced to both hardcore and casual Orlando fans in a Mardi Gras type atmosphere of football meets the Friday night culture of good times with friends," said Mitchell S. Mortaza, Founder & Chairman, Lingerie Football League.

A venue has not been selected, but league officials are actively scouting prospective arenas and stadiums throughout the Orlando area. Residents are being asked to submit potential names for their LFL franchise.

Currently, the LFL includes teams in ten major market cities which include:

Los Angeles Temptation
Denver Dream
Dallas Desire
Chicago Bliss
New York Majesty
Tampa Breeze
Miami Caliente
Philadelphia Passion

LFL, Friday Night Football features some of the America's most beautiful and athletic women playing 7-on-7 full-contact tackle football on Friday nights at major NBA, NHL and MLS arenas and stadiums.
