With the focus being on where to go, what to wear, and what’s appropriate for Valentine’s Day…one thing you don’t want to leave behind is your lipstick! And did you know that women that wear lipstick make 80% more money than those who don’t? It’s not only a woman’s #1 accessory, but it might be the answer to a pay raise at work too.
But there’s more to your lipstick and what it reveals than a little face paint. According to the shape of your lipstick tube, we can determine your general personality type as well…Get your lipstick out, screw up the tube and click here to see if your pucker matches your personality?
For your knockout look this Valentine’s Day, follow these simple tips to have the perfect pucker:
• Start with a liner and apply in light, feathery like strokes from corner to corner on both the top and bottom lip. Use a color that’s closest to the actual lipstick color you will be wearing, or if you don’t normally wear liner, start with a neutral color that resembles your actual lip tone.
• Next add a color that compliments your skin tone and what you’re wearing – cool or warm colors.
• Complete your hot lips by adding a little shimmer and shine with a Lip Gloss. For the illusion of a fuller lip, only add gloss in the middle on the bottom lip.
Lipstick applies better when you are putting it on moist lips. Exfoliating dry chapped lips, especially in the winter (and using a good sunscreen in the summer), helps your lips have a supple appeal. The stimulating motion of exfoliating can also increase blood circulation and for some, the result is a “redder” color to the lips. Speaking of red…there’s a lot of confusion about who should and shouldn’t wear red lipstick. For most women, it’s perfectly suitable. Finding the right shade of red can be a bit challenging; either a more “orange-red” or a “pink-red” as opposed to true-red is something most women need to pay attention to compliment their skin tone. Find the version right for you and step out in style. A bold red pout and neutral, smoky eye makeup isn’t just for the red carpet stars, it can be for you too.
