Fla. Senator wants registry for animal abusers

NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - State Senator, Mike Fasano, R-New Port Richey wants a law that makes it a little tougher for animal abusers to obtain animals. Hernando Today reported that Fasano's Senate Bill 618 ask that animal abusers register like sex offenders on a state registry.

The bill is also called "Dexter's Law," named after a kitten that was severely beaten in a local park. The kitten later died of its injuries.
