ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - The Seminole County Health Department has confirmed central Florida’s first swine flu death.
The 30-year-old woman who was hospitalized at Florida Hospital in Altamonte Springs passed away early Tuesday morning. Health officials said the patient was at high risk with complications when initially admitted for respiratory problems earlier in the month.
Her passing marks the second swine related death in Florida since the outbreak began in April. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have 562 confirmed and probable cases of the swine flu.
