ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - On a Monday afternoon, more than 72,000 followers were on the @earlybird profile at Twitter.com, and that's just the base number.
"Every time one of those users either re-tweets the message or shares it with their community, the reach just exponentially grows," says Lauren Candito, owner of Social Media Solutions in Orlando .
She says consumers are hungry for things like @earlybird, which will be busy pushing out brand deals and updates that are time sensitive.
Much like Woot.com and its one-wow-deal-per day, @earlybird is first come first serve.
"The first deal was Disney. They did two "Sorcerer Apprentice" tickets for the price of one, and they pushed out this deal and said, 'Tweet us back your zipcode and we'll send you the promo deal,'" says Candito.
That was last week. More deals are promised this week, as Twitter is still testing this thing. But steals and deals are alive and well over at CheapTweet.com , a streaming supply of advertised discounts that are posted on Twitter.
Books, clothes, technology -- all dropped in price for fans of micro blogging.
"It's a way for the end used to save some dough and really get in touch with what's going on," submits Candito.
