A day at the gun range turns deadly. Casselberry Police are investigating a shooting that took the life of a Mother and son. It happened Sunday, around 4:20 p.m. at the Shoot Straight Gun Range located at the intersection of 17/92 and Lemon Lane in Casselberry.
Casselberry police tell FOX 35, 45-year old Marie Moore, shot her 20-year old son, Mitchel Moore in the head, before shooting herself in the head. Police say, Mitchel, died at the scene, and his mother, Marie was taken to the Florida North Hospital in Altamonte Springs where she later died.
Casselberry Police tells FOX 35, there's no incident or altercation that led up to the shooting, but Marie Moore does have a histroy of mental illness. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement Crime Lab is assisting with the investigation.
