A Seminole County woman, who is already behind bars, is facing additional charges of attempted murder and arson.

Deputies said Kimberly Boone had an evil plan all along to kill her husband Robert. In December, they said she burned down their home with her husband inside. They said she even researched how to do it on a computer which investigators uncovered.

"She was searching for ways to kill her husband; ways to cover up her crime," said Lt. James Clark.

Clark added that she searched for information on certain drugs. "She was looking very heavily at specific drugs, painkillers, sleeping medication."

In fact, Robert Boone told deputies what he remembered from that day.

"He indicated to us that he was given a glass of water before he went to sleep, then all of a sudden, he wakes up extremely groggy, he's not clear-headed and the house is burning down around him."

Kimberly Boone's lawyer isn't buying it.

"I don't think the charges are going to hold up in court," said Cory Cohen. "The fire Marshall went out to the scene originally. They did a full investigation, and they came up with nothing. So I don't see how months later they got anything to prove she had anything to do with it."

But investigators said Boone had a motive. That's why they believe she tried it again in the March shooting.

"It all has to do with money, a substantial amount.

"She got her way into trouble and she was trying to dig her way out of it and she saw, unfortunately, he was the ticket to get her out," said Lt. Clark.

The investigation is ongoing.
