Deputies investigating armed robbery

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Brevard County Sheriff’s agents are investigating the armed robbery of the Advanced America Cash Advance on Merritt Island Thursday morning.

Investigators say around 10:05 a.m. a black male suspect entered the business located at 76 E. Merritt Island Causeway and approached a female clerk. He then seized her, placed a gun to hear head and forced her into the rear of the business where three other employees were located. All of the employees were held at gunpoint while one was made to open a cash box. After taking the cash the suspect fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect is described as a black male approximately 5’6” to 6’00” tall, weighing approximately 160 lbs, with long dreadlock style hair pulled back from his face with what was described as either a tattoo or discoloration on his lower left shin. He was wearing a pair of camouflage pants cut off as shorts, a bright yellow button down short-sleeve-shirt exposing a white tank-top style T-shirt underneath, and dark sneakers or athletic style shoes.
