PALM BAY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - A Palm Bay man is in jail following his arrest Tuesday night for charges involving kidnapping and a plot to commit sexual battery on a long-time friend. Tony Green, 44, faces charges of kidnapping, attempted sexual battery, aggravated stalking, battery and threats/extortion and could face up to 30-years in prison on the kidnapping charge alone if found guilty.

On Monday, police said Green contacted the victim requesting a ride to pick up his vehicle at the auto repair shop. Because the victim is a long time friend, she was not suspicious.

At approximately 1:45 p.m. on Monday, the victim arrived at the suspect's home located at 1698 Wyoming Drive SE where he invited her inside. According to the victim, once she was inside the home, he grabbed her from behind and handcuffed her right wrist.

The victim resisted and the two struggled for several minutes. The victim stated the suspect repeatedly told her he wanted to have sex with her. During the struggle the victim decided to talk to Green in order to calm him down and in an attempt to escape. After approximately two hours, the victim said she convinced Green to let her leave, then she contacted police.

Detectives with the Major Case Unit began the investigation during which time the suspect made several admissions to the female including his desire to restrain her in an effort to take nude photographs of her.

The suspect stated he wanted to use those photographs to blackmail the victim into having consensual sex with him once a week as a treat. This man had been plotting this for several months, said Detective Steve Hill. Had she not talked her way out of this we believe she may have ended up in some serious danger.

The suspect is being held without bond until he faces a judge in jail court on Wednesday afternoon.
