BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Cocoa Police and Rockledge Police are trying to figure out if two late night drive-by shootings are connected.
The first shooting happened Tuesday just before 11:30 p.m. near Holmes Street and South Kentucky Avenue in Cocoa. Police say they arrived on scene and located a rental car with several bullet holes in it. Police identified the victims as William Lennar, 51, of Cocoa and Steve Aikens, 25, of Rockledge. Both men were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening wounds. Police say one was shot once in the hand, the other was shot three times including a grazing wound to his head.
Police say the victims were only able to give police a vague description of their attackers. They stated that a grey or silver vehicle pulled up, two black males got out of the vehicle, one wearing a mask, and the suspects began shooting at them, reports say.
The second shooting happened minutes later. Police say someone in a dark colored SUV shot a teen walking home on Revilla Lane in Rockledge. Police identified the victim as 19-year-old Felix Dozier. He is recovering from a bullet wound to the leg.
