ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Orlando Police officers are investigating a murder-suicide at a Publix grocery store located at 2871 S. Orange Avenue.
The shooting happened around 8 p.m. Tuesday evening.
Detectives say 62-year-old Andreau Yankton was waiting in a check-out line when he shot the cashier, who was his estranged wife, 34-year-old Anicia Yankton. She was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
Police say Andreau Yankton then ran outside and was challenged by a police officer who was patrolling the area. Police say Yankton then shot himself in the parking lot. He was also transported to ORMC where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators said the shooting appears to be the result of a domestic dispute. They say the two were not divorced but did live separately.
No other employees or customers inside the store at the time of the shooting were injured.
