ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35, Orlando) - An attempted kidnapping near the University of Central Florida campus has University Police on alert. It happened just before midnight Friday at the Pegasus Landing Apartments off State Road 434.
University Police say a woman was walking by herself when a man grabbed her from behind and tried to drag her into a nearby hallway. The woman was able to get away.
The property is guarded by a security guard and has a number of security cameras scattered around. However, the property is largely open to people walking and the attempted kidnapping suspect was able to run away.
According to University Police, crime in Pegasus Landing is relatively low. Back in July there were two petty thefts, one car burglary and one apartment burglary.
The attempted kidnapping suspect is described as male, five foot seven or taller with white or tan skin. He was wearing dark clothing and a hoodie. If you have any info youre asked to call Crimeline at 1-800-423 TIPS.
