OCALA, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35, Orlando) - Authorities are investigating the fatal shootings of two people and a cat, they were all found inside a north Florida apartment. Authorities said they believe the two are a mother and son.
Investigators said the two people, who apparently died from gunshot wounds, have been identified as 54-year-old Carolyn Moloney and 22-year old Terrence Moloney. Detectives were able to confirm that each reported to work on August 20, 2010, but had not returned since.
Investigators said there are indications that this is a murder/suicide, however this is not confirmed and the case is still currently being investigated. They said a cat was shot as well.
Police said they found a handgun inside the apartment Wednesday, but wouldn't immediately specify the type or where it was found. Officials estimate the bodies may have been inside the apartment for a few days.
