SATSUMA, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Sunday marks month three of the disappearance of 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings. No new information has been released by investigators in the past weeks, and Haleigh's father has remained tight lipped since his marriage to his 17-year-old girlfriend.
In March, investigators with the Putnam County Sheriff's Office said it was not clear if Haleigh was abducted. The trailer where she lived had no signs of forced entry but a back door was ajar.
Haleigh's father said the blonde girl was missing when he returned home from work around 3 a.m. Tuesday, February 10. Ronald Cummings said his wife, Misty, was awake and frantic that Haleigh was missing from her bed. Haleigh's brother told investigators that a man dressed in black came into the home to visit Misty and took Haleigh.
Local and state authorities and the FBI have searched for Haleigh in neighbors' homes and vehicles in the past months, but have turned up empty handed.
A Department of Children & Families investigation is underway to determine what the living conditions were like inside the home where Haleigh and her younger brother lived.
