A Daytona Beach man is behind bars charged with growing marijuana.
On Thursday night the Flagler County Sheriff’s deputies confiscated more than 30 marijuana plants from a West Flagler County home Thursday night and charged a Rubinel Suarez, 38, for an illegal cultivation operation.
Investigators say they got a tip from the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office and responded to the home at 4757 County Road 305 and when Suarez answered the door, he gave permission for law enforcement to search the home. Investigators found the illegal plants in the garage area of the home and Suarez told deputies he was only a tenant and did not have access to the garage. Deputies were able to open the garage door with a key that was located on the man’s keychain.
Suarez is being held in the Flagler County Inmate Facility Friday in lieu of $10,000 bond on the charge of manufacturing cannabis.
