Lake County drug ring busted

LAKE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - On Sunday, The Lake County Sheriff's Office Special Investigations Bureau ended a 5 month narcotics investigation into a drug trafficking organization operating out of the Eustis Area.

During the two day sweep, the Bureau served six search warrants and a consensual search where detectives ssay they eized over a kilo of cocaine, $35,000 in U.S. currency, and ten guns, one of which was stolen.

Detectives say they were able to identify Joshua Marrell Bell of Eustis and Terrance Darnell Hill of Lady Lake as the leaders of this operation. Assisting the two men were several co-conspirators that detectives were able to identify and take into custody. Detectives say Bell and Hill were responsible for distributing large sums of cocaine, crack cocaine, and marijuana throughout the Central Florida area, and also reached New York City.

Detectives made twelve arrests so far, with charges ranging from Operating a Continual Criminal Enterprise, Conspiracy to Traffic Cocaine, Trafficking Cocaine, Conspiracy to Purchase Cocaine and Possession of Cocaine.
