ASTATULA, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35, Orlando) - Carbon monoxide poisoning sent seven members of a Lake County family to the hospital. This happened at a home on Maryland Avenue in Astatula. Mom Julie Coffman says Saturday morning one of her kids complained of a headache and vomiting she thought it was a stomach bug, but soon realized it was much more.

Coffmans husband Shane is a mechanic and the night before he had been working on a truck in the garage and the fumes had filled their home leading to carbon monoxide poisoning to many of the homes occupants. Coffman called 911 and everyone was taken to area hospitals.

Coffmans husband and oldest son were released from the hospital after being put through a decompression chamber. Everyone is doing fine.

Coffman says her family will be installing carbon monoxide monitors in their home and says every family should have them.
