Leesburg Police investigating stabbing

Leesburg Police say they are investigating a stabbing at the Montclair Oaks Apartment Complex.

They say their preliminary investigation revealed that an unidentified suspect entered the victim’s apartment and stabbed her multiple times.

Reports say the victim, a 27-year-old female, sustained serious injuries and is currently being treated at a nearby medical facility.

Police say the motive and person responsible for the attack are unknown at this time.

Detectives say they are treating this isolated incident as an armed burglary and attempted homicide. Detectives are working on a more detailed description of the suspect. Officers of the department say they will maintain extra patrols in this area.
