Tea Party protest in Tavares!

Folks in Washington like to talk about what's happening on Main Street U.S.A., but on Main Street in Tavares folks aren't too happy about what's happening in Washington!

Echoing Tea Party protests from around the nation, about a dozen of Tavares' Tea Party Patriots took to Main Street on Wednesday to voice their opposition to the recently rolled out Democratic Health Care Reform Bill: House Resolution 3962.

Dave VonGunten, co-founder of the Tavares Tea Party Patriots, worries that if the bill passes his current care under Medicare would be lost. He says that most agree some form of reform is necessary but that most of the contention centers around the public option, the large amount of bureaucracy in the bill, and what it will eventually cost.

The 2,000 page bill could go before a vote as early as this week. More Tea Party protests are planned in Washington D.C. and around the nation.
