Man charged with making obscene 911 calls

A Tampa man was arrested Thursday charged with making obscene calls to 911.

Investigators say Joshua Basso, 29, called a 911 operator four times and asked her about her private body parts and asked her to have sex with him. Police say when an officer responded to the Basso’s home, he asked for Basso's cell phone, but he refused to turn it over. The officer then called the number and Basso’s phone began to ring in the suspect's front pocket.

Tampa Police say Basso then admitted, "I did it. I did it" When asked why he called 911, he told the officer, "because I'm out of minutes and 911 is free."
