A Haines City man has been charged with burglary after he got stuck inside the ventilation system on the roof of the store he was burglarizing.
It happened early Tuesday morning at the La Placita Mexico Supermarket,located at 201 N. 10th St. in Haines City. Officers were called to the store for the report of a person stuck in a the ventilation system on the roof of the business.
The store’s owner told officers she heard someone screaming for help as she was opening the business. Officers determined that Randy Eugene Cliett, 49, got stuck in the ventilation system while he was attempting to burglarize the business. Cliett had to be extracted from the ventilation system by the Haines City Fire Department.
Investigators say Cliett was arrested for burglary by the Haines City Police Department on April 13, 2004 for breaking into the same business. Cliett was released from Florida State Prison on September 14, 2009 relating to that burglary.
Cliett has been charged with:
1. Burglary to an unoccupied structure causing damage over $1,000.00 dollars
2. Possession of Burglary Tools
3. Felony Criminal Mischief
