Two armed robberies reported in tourist area

Two victims were robbed at gunpoint within a half hour of each other on Thanksgiving in the I-Drive tourist area.

Orange County Sheriff’s deputies said it’s likely the two robberies are related.

The first incident happened around 6:30 p.m. near the Renaissance Hotel on Westwood Boulevard and Sea Harbor Lane. Two men in hoodies and armed with a handgun confronted and robbed the victim, however the victim did not get a good look at the suspects.

At around 7 p.m., two black males with bandanas over their faces robbed a man near the Rosen Centre on International Drive and Hawaiian Court.

No one was injured in either robbery.
