Mother of monorail victim goes to court

FOX 35 has obtained new information about the deadly monorail crash at Walt Disney World on the Fourth of July holiday weekend.

It appears the mother of the 21-year-old monorail pilot killed in the accident is headed for a lawsuit, according to a petition filed in orange county civil court.

Christine Wuennenberg asked for permission to inspect all evidence in the investigation into the death of her son, Austin. That evidence includes video surveillance on the platform where monorail workers would have been when issuing the command for the pink train to move in reverse.

The pink train crashed into the purple train which was piloted by Austin in the early hours of July 5. In court, on Wednesday, a judge denied her petition.
