The man accused of killing an off-duty Orlando Police officer in 2007 was found guilty of of first degree murder by a jury on Friday.

Davin Smith, 20, of Orlando, was one of two men arrested in the shooting death of Alfred Gordon. Posecutors said Smith pulled the trigger while Hugo Terry, 19, drove the getaway car after robbing and shooting the 52-year-old Gordon.

The courtroom was packed for another emotional day. Family members of the victim and fellow Orlando Police officers were present.

"We are very thankful and proud of the work by the Orange County Sheriff's Office and the Orlando Police Department and all the support from the community," said the victim's daughter, Kimberly Gordon.

Gordon had stopped at a Bank of America in Orlando's Pine Hills community to withdraw cash from an ATM on October 4, 2007.  Prosecutors had said that upon returning to his car, Gordon was approached by Smith who demanded money.   They said it was Smith who shot and killed Gordon.

Former boy band impressario Lou Pearlman provided testimony earlier in the week.  Pearlman said he overheard Smith talking about the killing while the two were incarcerated at the Orange County Jail.

Terry had been asked by prosecutor's to testify against Smith, but he refused.  A jury found Terry guilty of first degree murder on July 3, and he will be sentenced to life in prison -- in Florida, first degree murder comes with a mandatory life sentence.

Smith was found guilty of first degree murder and attempted robbery after a jury deliberated for 5 hours and 28 minutes before coming back with a verdict.   Smith was very calm and showed no emotion. He held his head down as part of the verdict was read.

Smith could face the death penalty.  Jurors are expected to return to court at 9 a.m. on Saturday for sentencing.
