Teen forced to be sex slave

Police say a husband and wife kidnapped a teenager from an Orange County bus stop and forced her into prostitution.

The girl disappeared for a year back in 2007. Police say Timothy Smith and his wife Aleisha kidnapped the 15-year-old girl right off the street. Police say they held her captive for more than a year, forcing her to have sex with dozens of men.

The Smith's are being held at the Orange County Jail.

The teenager told investigators that while she was waiting for a bus on the corner of Silver Star Road and Powers Drive a van pulled up. Police say Timothy Smith was the driver. The girl says he ordered her to get in while pointing a gun. While it happened, the girl says Smith's toddler son slept in the back seat.

According to the police report, cops picked up Timothy Smith on other charges a few days later. They took him to jail. This is when the girl says Aleisha Smith threatened her with a knife and made her have sex with a man as payment for rent. It all went down hill from there. The girl told investigators for over a year she was sold as a sex slave, pimped out for money, from place to place to place and all the while she says Aleisha Smith was collecting money from these men and keeping her captive.

She said there were a few locations in Clermont and Oakland where Smith would take her to have sex with multiple men in a day.

In 2008, after a year of looking for her daughter and handing out flyers, the girl's mom got a tip on where the now 16-year-old was being held. She found her daughter and called police. When police showed up they say Aleisha Smith ran.

Police say one of the reasons we didn’t hear about the case sooner is because the teenager had runaway just prior to the alleged kidnapping.
