ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Orange County deputies are still trying to figure out why a man killed a woman and then himself Saturday afternoon. Cops worked two different crime scenes for hours and they're still keeping information close to the vest.

Those who knew Jennifer Roqueta say they still aren't sure what caused Ryan Scurlock to snap. Lety Cordero was home all day, but says she didn't hear a sound, not even a peep coming from the apartment upstairs.

We asked, you did not hear anything upstairs? Gunshots? She answered, "Nothing, I was sleeping." So she thought it was strange that just after 3 p.m. several deputies ran past her and up the stairs Saturday.

Cordero told us, "I heard when they said sheriff's office!" They called twice, but she did not open the door. That's because the orange county sheriff office says Jennifer Roqueta was dead inside.

It was a bizarre chain of events. Deputies found the 21-year old woman after they responded to call from friends of Ryan Scurlock's . They say he sent his friends text messages that had them concerned for his well being.

Shortly after the messages. They found that scurlock killed himself at the Shooting Gallery gunrange. Deputies then realized that his was a murder/suicide.

FOX 35 knocked on the door of where records show Shurlocks former roommates lived they did not answer and their neighbors knew little about the 24-year old. Even Roquetas acquaintances say he was a mystery. Cordero said, "I was cleaning the balcony and she passed with him. I didn't know his face. I didn't see it. She said hi and that was it."

Cops wont give any details about the events leading up to the murder/suicide. We are told the woman worked at buffalo wild wings, folks there say they are reeling from her death.
