ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - "I was in the shower. All of a sudden I heard this crash, boom, vibration. My immediate thought was, what was that? My dog just freaked out and started barking. Looked out my bedroom window. Car in pool. Awesome. Like, good morning!" recalls Amelia Elder.
She, along with her housemate Rafael Caceres, were inside their house when two cars collided in the intersection of John Young Parkway and Whispering Lakes Blvd, just beyond their backyard fence in South Orange County.
The crash caused 73-year-old Mary Brenenborg of Orlando to lose control of her car. She wound up nose-end into a swimming pool. Caceres called 911, and helped the elderly woman out of the car.
"There's a step in my pool. I had her stay there until Fire Rescue came to assist her," says Caceres.
Brenenborg was shaken, stirred, but OK. The pool, not so much.
"That's dirty water. Contaminated water. So I have to drain out the whole pool, and get the structure fixed," says Caceres.
Good thing he's got insurance for a house he bought just last month.
"At first, I was like, are you kidding me? It's stuff you only see in movies and TV shows. But apparently it happens in real life," says Caceres.
