Beehive to blame for condo fire

KISSIMMEE, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - The City of Kissimmee Fire Department has released the cause of fire at Villa Del Sol condominiums on Sunday night. An anonymous caller alerted authorities that two residents of the condominium doused a beehive hanging from the second floor landing with a flammable spray, in an effort to exterminate the bees.

They immediately applied a lit match to the beehive after applying the flammable spray. This caused flames to erupt, which led the individuals to use a fire extinguisher. They thought the flames were put out prior to leaving the scene.
At this time no charges are pending; however, the investigation by the State Fire Marshalls Office is still open.
