ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Orange County investigators say an arrest has been made in a string of up to 14 robberies that have occurred in Central Florida during the past several days.

A tip resulting from the extensive media coverage given to this case led investigators to a suspect. The suspect was quickly identified, located, and placed under surveillance.

Reports say the suspect was arrested by the surveillance team Wednesday at about 5:45 p.m. on the 1000 block of Oak Street (intersection of Main and Oak) in Osceola County.

Store clerk feared for her life

An Orange County sandwich shop cashier came face to face with the serial robber. She says she feared for her life, so she handed over the cash. The robbery was caught on video surveillance.

Montana Cox returned to work on Wednesday. Her stomach was "full of nerves."

"I really didn't want to work register, nor do I want to work register. My hands were shaking all day working register."

She says every time the door opened, she thought it was another robber.

"Every time someone tells me what they have, I make sure they're pulling a wallet out to make sure they have money before I go to open the register.

Police investigators said surveillance video captured the robber at several other businesses. It's the same guy who confronted Montana.

"He went and ordered one thing, came back to the register, saw there were people, went back and ordered a second thing, and a third thing; finally, he realized there were a lot of people there."

The suspect appeared very agitated and impatient, pacing around for 15 minutes before approaching the register.

"When he to the register again, he looked at me and goes,'Don't move! Don't say anything! Don't look at anyone! Don't say a word! I have a gun. I will shoot you.' I was very scared. I wasn't messing around with that. I was very scared. I handed him what was in the drawer, I did what I had to do."

A FOX 35 News crew was present when detectives showed Montana a photo line up.

She is doing what she can to make sure this guy will not strike again.

"I really hope they catch the guy. I don't want anyone else to have to deal with this. No one should have to feel like that. I hope he gets whats coming to him and I hope he gets it soon."

Investigators said the robber is between 45 and 60 years old, stand about 6 feet tall and has salt and pepper hair. He is always wearing a baseball cap, a polo shirt and jean shorts.

Since last Thursday, police believe the suspect has hit up at least 12 businesses in Lake and Orange counties.  Anyone with information is asked to call the Orange County Sheriff's Office or Crimeline at 1-800-423-8477.
