Osceola County Sheriff's detectives are looing for an armed robbery suspect. On November 12 at approximately 4:00 a.m., deputies responded to Osceola Regional Medical Center in reference to a possible stabbing.
Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the victim, a taxi cab driver, who indicated a black male attempted to rob him at gunpoint. Earlier in the morning, the taxi cab driver was in the area of Oxford Drive and Polynesian Isle Boulevard when he was waved down by the suspect, described as a black man, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and 150 pounds in his late 30s or 40s.
The suspect got into the front passenger seat of the cab and asked to be taken to Poinciana. They drove through the parking lot towards the Hess Station when the suspect demanded money. The driver stopped and a fight ensued outside of the cab, at which time the suspect pulled out a knife. The driver stepped backward and was cut by the knife, but only received minor injuries and was released from the hospital.
