ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Officials say a handful of people suffered injuries, heat exhaustion or dehydration Friday at Altamonte Springs Red, Hot and Boom fireworks show.

According to the Seminole County Fire Department, there were 27 reports of various medical problems at the event, and seven people were taken to hospitals. The crowd was estimated to be about 165,000 people.

Seminole County fire Lt. David Williams said one person was burned when fireworks landed in the crowd. The patient was transported to Florida Hospital Altamonte.

Williams said injuries early in the day were heat-related, but that others were hurt in the evening due to falls as they were rushing to beat the crowd headed home.
