Girl says man tried to lure her

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - A 12-year-old Lake Mary girl claims someone used candy to try and lure her from her school bus stop Monday morning.

The mother of this girl says she was walking to the bus stop when a man pulled up and tried to talk to her. She says he first asked if she wanted Halloween candy then asked if she knew a boy named Jake. The girl yelled at the man just as the bus was pulling up. Once the 12 year old made it to Markham woods middle she told someone at the school and reported the incident to Seminole county sheriff’s office.

Fox 35 called Seminole County Schools and they had no comment saying that they encourage parents to work with law enforcement when things like this happen and their responsibility for the children starts when they get on the school bus.

The girl described the man who talked to her as a heavy set man with red hair. Witnesses say he was driving a small dark green car.
Parents who were at the bus stop when this happen thought the man was a parent.
