LONGWOOD, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - The Seminole County Sheriff's Office is investigating the discovery of a body at 2500 S. U.S. Hwy 17-92 in Longwood.
The body of a woman was found inside a parked car just outside of the Post Time Lounge near the intersection of Dog Track Rd.
A missing persons call was first received around 5 p.m. from friends and family members of the victim. Preliminary reports from homicide detectives indicate that the woman, identified as 19-year-old Fabiana Malave, is a victim of foul play and was possibly murdered at a different location, then brought to the parking lot of the Post Time Lounge.
Investigators said William Roger Davis III, 31, has been taken into custody for questioning and is cooperating with law enforcement.
Investigators believe Davis had been stalking the victim for some time. According to law enforcement agents, Malave had been assisting Davis in securing a car loan at a car dealership where she worked.
"It doesn't look random," said Seminole County Sheriff's Office spokesman, Lt. James Clark. "We don't know why he picked her.. why he chose her, why he chose to do this. We don't know."
Investigators said that early Thursday afternoon, Davis drove to the Post Time Lounge, parked his car and walked miles to Malave's workplace. He approached Malave outside of her workplace, and forced her into her own car at knife point. The two traveled back to the Post Time Lounge where Davis forced Malave into his car before traveling to an Orange County home where investigators said the murder happened. Investigators said Davis then drove his car back to the Post Time Lounge with Malave's body inside the vehicle.
Lt. Clark said Malave's family members and coworkers spotted Davis as he drove by the her workplace and followed him to the Post Time Lounge, where they confronted Davis.
"They follow him here. They block him in and an altercation ensues," said Lt. Clark. Deputies were called to break up the fight, at which time they said David confessed to murdering the victim.
