Two die in Longwood crash

The Florida Highway Patrol reports that two men died after the driver of a vehicle lost control of his car and struck a tree.

Ujval Desai, 22, of Orlando, was heading northbound on Wekiva Springs Road in Longwood shortly after 1 a.m. when his 2005 Nissan left the roadway, struck a tree, and rolled onto its roof. Passenger Anton Cantiberos, 23, also died. Neither were wearing seat belts, according to the FHP.

Desai died at the scene. Cantiberos was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center where he later died. Early reports from the FHP indicate that wet pavement may have been a cause of the accident, which is still under investigation.
