ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - A standoff on Interstate 4 between Florida Highway Patrol troopers and a driver of a stolen vehicle has come to close after some tense moments and backed-up traffic near the SR 50 interchange.
The driver of a black truck has been arrested following a brief chase which ended in downtown Orlando. Troopers believe the truck was stolen from an area dealership.
Early reports indicate that the suspect had written a bad check for the vehicle then drove off the lot. The dealership reported the man to authorities.
"FHP tracked the stolen tag through OnStar . Fortunately, the man pulled over on I-4 and Colonial and turned the truck over," said FHP spokesperson, Sgt. Kim Miller.
Traffic was stopped on I-4 westbound for approximately 15 to 20 minutes. One lane of traffic remains closed. That, coupled with heavy rain, has resulted in delays.
