VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Volusia County firefighter Michael Michaud was arrested on May 24, 2010 for burglary and schemes to defraud charges involving multiple victims. Port Orange Police say on the same date a press release was completed and new victims were discovered. In addition to this arrest, on June 1, 2010 Detective Sergeant David Meyer obtained more arrest warrants against Michaud for burglary of an occupied dwelling and another charge of burglary of a dwelling.
The fireman was arrested Tuesday morning near 1640 Taylor Road in Port Orange.
The Criminal Investigation Division say they found that Michaud did engage in a scheme to defraud multiple Port Orange residents. They say the scheme included an ongoing course of conduct in order to obtain prescription medications under false pretenses, and representations, of future acts.
Anyone with more information is asked to contact Detective Sergeant David Meyer at (386) 506-5882.
