EDGEWATER, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - A suspected arsonist or group of them may be on the run Volusia County after several mobile homes caught on fire nearly all at the same time.

Edgewater Fire officials say four mobile homes have burned at the Seahorse Mobile Home Park in the last 11 days and three of those fires are being considered suspicious.

Gerald Tedder was asleep in his home early Thursday morning when two of the fires broke out his wife woke him up.

“One thirty in the morning this all happened. I was in bed asleep she run in got me up but I never did hear the boom boom and she heard the boom boom,” said Tedder.

Tedder says a mobile home near his was on fire and it was spreading fast.

Edgewater Fire officials aren't sure what to make of the fires. The park houses a 55 or older community. Folks like Tedder say it's happening too much to be an accident. “It freaked me out I know it’s arson,” said Tedder.

The homes were unoccupied at the time but the damage is significant. The State Fire Marshals Office is investigating.
