(WOFL FOX 35, Orlando) - Their wedding is over, and Briana and Nate Goehring are all checked-in for their honeymoon. But reaching this point didn’t come without drama.
’With all the bad luck we’re like check the sky before you walk out.’ The newlyweds are now safe and sound finally at Disney World’s Coronado Springs Resort.
’I just still cant believe it happened because there was so much planning involved and then we got evacuated and were like what?!’ In the middle of their week long wedding celebration in North Carolina, Hurricane Earl decided to crash the party.
The Texas couple rented one of the largest estates in the outer banks. ’It has 23 bedrooms a pool, a hot tub, a volley ball court, a movie theatre theater seating and elevators.’ But even from the get-go something kept coming up.
’Our rental car broke down, so we had to wait for the new one.’ Then while taking their 40 guests to the beach house, everything turned into a nightmare.
’It takes a half hour of just driving on the beach of like ruts bouncing, it was fun, but, `Fun the first time.’ Once you’re going back and forth it took forever,’ they said.
On Wednesday, the Goehring's had just enough time to squeeze in their vows and take some pictures before Earl showed up. ’The weather was gorgeous; we got some huge waves in the background. We actually jumped into the ocean with our wedding clothes on and ruined the dress.
And after a quick dinner, The Goehring's said, ’Some people were like oh lets stay and party, but I started getting scared and didn’t want to be there.
They left that night. ’Our wedding night was at a roach motel. We won’t say which one but you can picture it. Then the next morning were like going home and then were like no this is our honeymoon, let’s go to Disney World.’
Fast forward 24 hours later and the couple were in Orlando.
