You may have seen that bumper sticker that says, "I wasn't born in Texas, but I got here as quickly as I could!"
Well, I WAS born here, but it took me more than 20 years to make my way back! This job has brought me full circle. Back to Fort Worth where my mom and dad started their life together. They lived in a little duplex on Forest Park Boulevard. She was working at Harris Methodist Hospital. He was getting his PhD in chemistry at TCU.
I've lived in Delaware, Ohio, Montana and Michigan.
Now, Texas is home to my family. That includes the two little Texans born here - my son and daughter!
I've been at Fox 4 since 1999. My first couple of years were defined by the Wedgewood Church shooting and the Fort Worth tornado of 2000. I'll never forget the pain, the hurt and the destruction I saw. But what's most vivid in my memory is what happened after those events. How people pulled together. How resilient, warm and loving North Texans are.
I spend most of my time working in Tarrant County, from Sanger to Mansfield, Weatherford to Arlington.
