Thanks for visiting our website, and watching Fox 2 News! I'm thrilled to bring you the news each day on "Live at Eleven" and Fox 2 News at 5:30 p.m. I hope you'll also visit me in "The Ladies Room" section of our website.

I've wanted to work in news since high school, when I was editor of my school newspaper. After college, I began my career in my hometown of Buffalo, New York, where I was an anchor and reporter at WKBW-TV. I also worked in radio news at WKBW radio, but I actually started my broadcast career as host and producer of a daily morning children's television program, "The Jelly Roll Review."

I've been fortunate to win several awards during my career. Twice I've won the Emmy award for best news anchor in Michigan, from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. I won a 2006 Emmy award for "Cancer Twins," a story about identical twin sisters, both battling breast cancer. In 2002 I won an Emmy award for my "Tough Stuff" reports, hard-hitting stories about the difficult problems facing people in today's society.

I'm very proud of the special program I work on each year with producer Laura Moore, "Tribute to our Troops." The show has won two prestigious Edward R. Murrow regional awards for Best Documentary, in 2008 and 2006, as well as an Emmy award. The show has also been selected to be part of the Museum of Broadcast Communications in Chicago.

Our other annual special, "Holiday Connection," won an Emmy for Public Affairs, and also received an Award of Excellence from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters. Producer Katie Fehr and I are grateful for the community support that results from that show.

I was also proud to be honored by the University of Michigan in 2002, with its first annual "Community Involvement Award," for my report on proposed government changes that threatened the Special Education program in Michigan schools. After my report aired, state officials dropped those proposed changes.

I support several local organizations, including Gleaner's Food Bank, the Alzheimer's Association, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the Asthma and Allergy Foundation. For many years I helped host the Jerry Lewis Labor Day Muscular Dystrophy Association telethon, and I was the spokesperson for the "Rev Up to Read" program, sponsored by WJBK and Chrysler. I was also named one of the "Outstanding Young Women in America."

I graduated with honors from the State University of New York at Buffalo with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. I also attended graduate school there as a teaching assistant in the department of Communication.

I love the theater, and I've acted on stage and appeared in small roles in a handful of movies. My husband is a writer and columnist, and we live in metro Detroit with our three daughters.
