They've received many resume's and none was acceptable.
The company asked, doesn't anyone know how to write a resume anymore?
Well the rules have changed over the years so here are some things to remember to boost your resume and help you land that next job.
At the top of the list, check the spelling. It matters.
Also make sure there are no missing years. Every year must be accounted for and even If you didn't work, tell them that.
And when telling them what position you held, also include what you did in that position to add value for the company. Next, answer the question; did you increase business? Help in some way to boost profits?
When writing a resume or going to an interview your choice of words is also important.
Banish negative verbs like 'can't,' 'haven't' and 'don't' from your vocabulary."
Job Coach Annie Stevens says, "employers want people who can offer solutions, not potentially create problems.'
And remember, never consider your resume to be finished. It's a work in progress and you should update it every couple of months.
