Bill Anderson: Sandusky Interview 'Didn't Even Pass The Basic Laugh Test'

Radio host Bill Anderson, of 900-AM WURD, reacted Tuesday morning to the interview given by former Penn State football assistant coach and accused pedophile Jerry Sandusky.

Sandusky spoke out about the sex abuse charges against him in a phone interview with NBC's Bob Costas on Monday night. He claims he's innocent of charges of sexually abusing at least eight young boys.

"Well, I could say that I have done some of those things," Sandusky said. "I have horsed around with kids, I have showered after workouts, I have hugged them, and I have touched their legs without intent of sexual contact," Sandusky said in response to one question.

Anderson said Tuesday morning on "Good Day" that the interview was "very clearly damage control from somebody who's desperate."

The radio host added that Sandusky's interview "didn't even pass the basic laugh test."

Basically, Anderson, said, the former coach is asserting that he did some improper things but had some kind of moral awakening when the ultimate line of sexual violation as not crossed.

"I think that it's ridiculous for him to think people would believe that," Anderson said. "But this is spiraling out of control. And I think at this point Jerry Sandusky and his handlers are doing any and everything to try to control he damage, to try to have some credibility, and ultimately to try to defend themselves when they face huge charges."
