DeKalb Police have released a sketch of a person of interest they believe is connected to a double homicide that happened earlier this year.
On July 1, firefighters responded to a fire at a home located on Peeler Road in Dunwoody. They found the bodies of Roger and Dorothy Abbott inside their home.
Investigators believe the elderly victims were murdered, and that they may have known the suspect. They’re still searching for a motive in the case, but they do not believe the crime was random.
According to police, a witness described the person in the sketch as the same person who was seen on the victim’s front yard on the day of the murders. They say the sketch is a result of information from a witness who came forward in recent weeks.
The person of interest is described as a man between 40 and 45 years old with sandy brown hair. Police say the witness said the man was wearing a light-colored t-shirt, and had an average build.
